Artist Statement

Like many artists in their youth, I collected and hoarded hundreds of colorful crayons in carefully crafted little containers. In the third grade, I lost myself creating an art project in pastels. This vivid creation of an imaginary landscape dressed in fall colors led me to discover a deep joy relating to the color spectrum. After months of work, trees drawn in layers of pastels on paper sprang forth in three-dimensional life. My teacher quickly recognized my gift and encouraged me to develop my artistic talents.

Years passed before I took my first watercolor class allowing me to explore my inner creativity. With brush in hand, I committed to becoming a great painter! I reconnected with my true passion for color, paints and brushes.

My art colleague and mentor, Laura Gable, inspired me with various painting techniques and encouraged me to dig deeper into my "hidden creative well." With her generous guidance, I am now enjoying art again. I truly see myself as a thriving artist. Each brush stroke draws me closer to my dream of becoming a recognized international artist. I want to express my world in mixed media, promote and teach art, and sell paintings, prints, and greeting cards for all occasions.
